17TH PRECINCT - PILOT

GRAPHIC DESIGN

The imaginative police pilot 17th Precinct created a fascinating world where magic replaces modern science, blending investigative storytelling with supernatural elements. Often described as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation meeting Harry Potter, the concept required a unique visual language that mixed law enforcement procedure with mystical symbolism. I was brought onto the project by Production Designer Dawn Snyder as a Graphic Designer, where I developed a wide range of elemental and spiritual themed prop graphics that helped define the world of the series.
My work included creating investigative graphics, magical insignias, and custom three dimensional signage that appeared throughout the precinct environments. These elements helped support the idea that spells, runes, and mystical forces were the investigative tools of this alternate reality police department. The production featured an outstanding cast including Tricia Helfer, Stockard Channing, Jamie Bamber, and James Callis. The pilot balanced studio sets and practical locations to create a believable yet fantastical urban environment.
