Filming Love in Glacier National was a wonderful adventure into the snowy heart of the BC Kootenays, with Fernie providing the breathtaking backdrop for this avalanche-tinged romance. As Production Designer, it was my first time creating a television film entirely in a winter environment. Working closely with director Christie Will Wolf, we shaped locations that balanced the rugged beauty of the mountains with the warm charm needed for the story.
The film was shot completely on location, allowing the real landscapes of Fernie to become part of the storytelling. Sourcing set dressing and building environments in a small mountain town came with challenges, but the creativity of the local crew and the incredible BC talent we worked with made it a fantastic collaboration. The result was a film deeply connected to its spectacular winter setting.
