The world of Wu Assassins was a thrilling blend of myth and modern crime, weaving together ancient Chinese elemental warlords with the gritty energy of San Francisco’s Chinatown and underground crime world. Beginning on the series as an Assistant Art Director and later stepping into the role of Art Director, I was deeply involved in shaping the visual environments that supported the show’s mystical and action-driven tone.
Working under Production Designers Clark Hunter and Rick Whitfield, I contributed across many areas, including graphic elements, set design coordination, and the development of prop and environmental details. A number of locations required SketchUp modelling and digital manipulation to plan builds and integrate complex set elements. Organization across departments was essential to bring the design together, especially on large builds such as the highly detailed street alley set, which became one of the series’ most authentic and visually rich environments.
